in Your Homeschooling Journey

Keystone’s goal is to supply a wide variety of educational and communal opportunities without replacing the central role that homeschooling families play in orchestrating and fulfilling their students’ educations. As homeschoolers, families serve as their student’s primary educational institution. Keystone provides options, but families are ultimately responsible for integrating those options into a broader education. 

 

As an organization, Keystone is not a school but rather an assembly of individual teacher contractors who support Keystone’s mission. Teachers contract directly with families on a class-by-class basis and retain the ultimate authority over and responsibility for their course content.

Keystone Responsibilities

• Facilitate enrollment with qualified teachers who uphold our mission of secular, inclusive education

• Assemble a teaching team that covers a broad range of academics, arts, and physical education

• Provide a culture and environment that affirms LGBTQ+ students and families, supports neurodiversity and disability inclusion, and prioritizes health-conscious practices

Teacher Responsibilities

• Provide rigorous instruction, high academic standards, and an education that prepares students for advanced study and lifelong learning

• Cultivate classrooms where differences in identity, learning style, and perspective are recognized as strengths that enrich the academic experience

• Offer flexible learning approaches, accommodations, and multiple ways for students to demonstrate understanding

• Present honest, science-based learning

Family Responsibilities

• Design student’s program of study. Keystone does not promote or enforce any course requirements.

• Determine their homeschool’s graduation requirements. Keystone does not assess students’ comprehensive performance or formally graduate them.

• Issue a diploma. 

• Assemble and maintain student’s transcript and other records. While individual teachers may provide grades for specific courses, Keystone does not track student course records and cannot supply any form of a transcript.
